Applications are open for the dramatic writing workshop, which will take place during the 34th Marulić Days. Playwright, dramaturge, and theater director Vedrana Klepica will lead this year's edition. The workshop will be held during the Festival from April 19th to 23rd, and theater enthusiasts without significant writing experience and experienced authors looking to enhance their skills can apply.
Interested individuals can send their applications to drama@hnk-split.hr with the subject " Dramatic workshop." The deadline for applications is April 12th. Applicants must attach a brief CV and a synopsis for the dramatic text they wish to work on or one written dramatic scene chosen by the participants themselves. The goal of the workshop is to develop completed dramatic texts.
This workshop is being held for the seventh time. So far, over 30 participants have attended, with different profiles, life experiences, educational levels, confidence in their own artistic quality, and, of course, different ideas about what a dramatic text should actually be.
Vedrana Klepica is a playwright, dramaturge, and director. Her plays have been performed in Croatia, Great Britain, Austria, Germany, Australia, and Argentina and have been translated into six different languages. She has participated in some of the most important festivals for playwrights and theater authors and collaborated on several international development projects. Some of her performed plays include J.A.T.O, Radio Kundera, To Fuck Because We Want To, Tragična Smrt Ekonomskog Analitičara, Nebo je sivo i vidi se ispušni dimnjak tvorničkog postrojenja, Moby play, Bijeli bubrezi, Naš odgoj, Instructions For Understanding Multiannual Plants, Lepa Brena Project, Posljednje obraćanje usamljene gitare glazbenika i poduzetnika Miroslava Škore iz turbulentne godine predizborne izolacije, Keinberg, etc.
