The leading actor of the Drama of the Croatian National Theatre in Split, Trpimir Jurkić, initiated the project created for the intimate Scene 55. In a monologue format, he aims to summarize his past career and life. Through a series of confessions and anecdotes, Jurkić successfully demystifies the concepts of acting, art, and career.

Calculating the damage

Trpimir Jurkić, a theater, film, and television actor, writer, and director, the leading actor of the Croatian National Theatre in Split, was born in Split in 1963. For about three decades of work, he has played more than a hundred theatrical roles in classical and modern repertoire, from ancient drama to recent titles of contemporary theater. He has also taken on around twenty film and television roles. In addition to his acting career, he is involved in writing and directing, collaborating with both professional and amateur theaters. He has written three dramatic texts: "The Good Samaritan," "Cain and Abel," and "Insignificant Stories," of which the last two were performed on the stages of the City Youth Theater Split and the Croatian National Theatre in Split (in 1999 and 2003). For his artistic contributions, he has received numerous awards. At one point, he also wrote columns for an internet portal. His first book of writings, columns, essays, and stories titled "You Can't Choose Less Painful Hours" was published in 2021, and two years later, he released a collection of poetry called "Waiting for Dawn to Break."
