The Split Aquarelle

Ever since its first staging (Split, March 5, 1928) there have been thousands of stories told about The Split Aquarelle, however the essence of its charm was perhaps best described by the director Krešimir Dolenčić: "The Split Aquarelle, being a musical or operetta, does not exist. The Split Aquarelle

Our singing-acting-dancing team will travel from the Veli Varoš neighbourhood, herbalist Salko in Ljubuški and Master Pero’s cakes and sausages, to the Riva (seafront) of our childhood. We will celebrate Festivities of St. Domnius, play raffle, cloaked and comforted with beautiful, youthful love of Tonči and his Marica, tribute to the major characters of this immortal piece by Master Tijardović - the City of Split and ourselves who live it and dream it the way we like it most, with all its faults and virtues.
