The Beret

Honest, poignant, and emotionally charged dramatic text by Ilija Zovko about the, more or less accidental, encounter of two strangers, a woman and a man in their late fifties, was brought to life by Snježana Sinovčić Šiškov and Trpimir Jurkić. They created a performance that, as the critics concluded after the premiere, will be 'joyfully watched.

The Beret

On the surface, it is a witty, seemingly everyday human story of mistaken identity and the entertaining misunderstandings that arise from it. It's a profound analysis of human relationships in the contemporary, alienated world and the human need for a "kindred soul." Although this drama doesn't address grand themes and instead deals with very human fears, the fear of long-awaited happiness and its implications are significant. Overcoming anxiety, giving oneself a chance, daring to take that crucial step towards happiness and fulfillment - a treasure many have let slip away due to restrained fear.

Media about 'The Beret':
"Greta and Petar in 'The Beret' seemed to have no uncertainties or weight in the hinted at possible love; they were She and He, themselves, curious like children, tired in their worlds but not without hope. Therefore, we are pleased that the jury of the drama program awarded this performance the 'Judita' prize for the best artistic achievement."
Dunja Vusio, Vijenac

"'The Beret' offers an atmosphere of calm and refinement, something rare today."
Jasmina Parić, Slobodna Dalmacija
