As part of the 69th Split Summer Festival, virtuoso Elemér Duka and his Hungarian Gypsy Chamber Orchestra will perform a concert featuring their most famous compositions.

Exceptional cellist, Elemér Duka, was born into a renowned musical dynasty in Budapest. His musical journey began at a young age under the guidance of his grandfather and led him to study with famous cellist Szilvásy László. He is currently a classical violin student at the University of Pécs, mentored by the esteemed László Pólus. He has performed with numerous world orchestras and renowned musicians such as David Foster, Tamás Vásáry, and Shlomo Mintz. He has won multiple awards at competitions in Budapest, as well as national and international cello competitions. Five years ago, he founded a chamber orchestra called the Gypsy Chamber Orchestra, the only orchestra combining traditional Roma music, Hungarian and Yiddish repertoire, with works by great classical composers.
