Exceptionally rich poetic world of Jakša Fiamengo lives on two parallel tracks. Besides “classical” poetic opus, published in more than 20 poetry collections, Fiamengo is one of the most important songwriters of contemporary Croatian music scene. A maritime poet, deeply anchored in all that constitutes the world of Dalmatia, its past, history and landscape whose poetry is permanently marked by “a true inebriation with the life of homeland, Croatian old times and its tradition, as well as of wider Mediterranean horizons” (Božidar Petrač).
