OREST SHOURGOT Violinist, conductor, educator, and professor at the Zagreb Academy, laureate of international competitions.

He began his career in Lviv in 1981, and since then, he has performed in over 50 European countries, as well as Korea, China, Japan, the USA, Canada, Israel, Kuwait, and Oman. In 1995, he presented several world premieres of contemporary music in Amsterdam and Paris. He has performed in renowned venues such as Corte in Paris, Schauspielhaus in Berlin, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Royal Opera House in Muscat, and other famous halls. Since 2001, he has been the concertmaster of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2004, he received the exclusive right from HAZU to perform on the "King" violin made by the Italian master Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù.
He is the first violinist in Croatia to have performed the Cycle of Three Sonatas and Three Partitas for Solo Violin by J. D. Bach and the Cycle of Six Sonatas by E. Ysaÿe in the same year. He is also the first violinist to have performed Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov in Oman and Kuwait and Bach's Cycle in Split in 2018 at the Church of St. Dujam. He currently plays on a Paolo Santo Maggini violin from his private collection.
