Mandolina Croata

Mandolina Croata is a project's by the Split Mandolin Society Sanctus Domnio. It was initiated in 2009 with the goal of combining compositions by contemporary Croatian authors initially composed for mandolin orchestras in the Mandolina Croata concert series program.

Mandolina Croata

The project includes musical works by domestic, internationally recognized authors such as Vlado Sunko, Marin Katunarić, Gordan Tudor, Tomislav Kalebić, Ivan Božičević, Pavle Sviličić, Bruno Matijašević, who have dedicated a considerable number of compositions and premieres to the mandolin orchestra Sanctus Domnio. It also encompasses Croatian authors like Boris Papandopulo, Luka Sorkočević, Josip Hatze, Ivo Tijardović, and others, whose works are gladly accepted and often part of the orchestra's repertoire.

The goal of Croatian Mandolin is to intrigue and introduce as many young people as possible to Croatian musical heritage, stimulate musical creativity in the field of contemporary music for mandolin and mandolin orchestras, and encourage interested composers and musicians to try their hand at composing for mandolin and mandolin orchestra, with a focus on the general interest in cultural development.
