Experience contemporary sculpture within the beautiful space of Ivan Meštrović's Summer Villa. Fulfilling the artist's vision of his home as a gathering place for fellow artists and art enthusiasts, the exhibitions of the "Artist at Meštrović's" cycle unite the legacy of one of Croatia's most renowned sculptors with the artists who follow in his footsteps, offering a glimpse into the artistic continuity of this region. Since 2010, the exhibition cycle "Artist at Meštrović's" has welcomed the works of a contemporary artist into Meštrović's physical and spiritual realm.

Previously showcased artists include: Zlatko Bourek, Matko Trebotić, Dalibor Stošić, Vasko Lipovac, Marija Ujević Galetović, Kažimir Hraste, Enca Kovačević, Frano Missia, Kuzma Kovačić, Peruško Bogdanić, and Nikola Vrljić. This summer of 2023, the exhibition features the work of acclaimed sculptor Hrvoje Dumančić, adding his unique perspective to this remarkable series.

Hrvoje Dumančić was born in Zagreb in 1975. He completed his education at Zagreb's School of Applied Arts and Design. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Zagreb, majoring in sculpture, in 1998.
He is a member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists, The Society of Equestrian Artists in London, and the International Association ArAnimA in France. In 2002, he received the first prize for the sculpture "Aramis" at the "Xe Salon International de Saumur" in France. He had a study residence at the artistic house "La Colombiere" in Saumur in 2003 (scholarship from the French Institute). As part of the international cultural cooperation program, he spent two months in the Cité Internationale des Arts studio in Paris in 2011. He participated in international exhibitions such as "Salon d'Art Equestre" and "Salon du Cheval" in Paris, as well as group exhibitions like "The Horse in Art" at Mall Galleries in London and "Arte Equinus 3" in the United States. During the Third World Equestrian Festival, he organized a solo exhibition of sculptures at the Samuel Tessedik Museum in Szarvas, Hungary. He held a solo exhibition at the "Chapelle St. Jean" gallery in Saumur (2009) and a solo exhibition at the Rueil Malmaison in the Jacques Baumel Media Library. He has exhibited in around thirty group and fifteen solo exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. The central theme of his artistic work is horses; through his art, he advocates for the popularization of horse-related art.
