Giampiero Sobrino is one of the most famous Italian clarinet players who besides developing his top soloist career, works as a Deputy Artistic Director of the Arena di Verona. He graduated with flying colors at the Alessandria Music Conservatory, participated at numerous international competitions and at the age of twenty became a soloist of the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, Turin Philharmonic Orchestra and after that in the orchestra of the Arena di Verona. He cooperated with the best conductors and musicians such as Sir Georg Solti, Leonard Bernstein, James Levine, Mstislav Rostropovich, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Muti, Wolfgang Sawallich, Zubin Mehta, Giuseppe Sinopoli and Pierre Boulez. He has performed at the stages of Rome, Naples, Verona, Monaco, Trieste, Zagreb, Saint Petersburg, Hamilton and Bangkok. Some of his eminent performances were with the New England Symphonic Ensemble in Carnegie Hall, Mexico and Athens Orchestras, Philharmonic Orchestras of Kiev, Toronto, Württemberg and Beijing, Montreal Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Bohemica Ensemble from Prague as well as those in Avignon, Prague, Taipei, Budapest, Montevideo, Nancy, Bratislava, Stockholm and Zürich.
Sobrino will be accompanied on piano by Roberto Moretti who graduated at Palermo Conservatory and later studied at numerous music academies and cooperated at Masterclasses with eminent names as Alexander Toradze, Laura DeFusco, Mario Feninger, François-Joël Thiollier, Giuseppe La Licata, Mihaela Ursuleasa, Claudius Tanski, Sergio Perticaroli, Alexander Gadijev, Aldo Ciccolini… He has performed more than 400 concerts as a soloist, piano accompaniment or member of a chamber ensemble. He performed at Festivals in Dubrovnik, Sofia, Palermo, Gozo and big European stages. He was awarded numerous Italian and international prizes and recognitions - „Città di Palermo", "Benedict Albanian", "European Competition Venetico Superiore", "Schumann", "Seiler"...
