Decadance

Decadance is a contemporary dance exploration created as a collage of excerpts from earlier choreographies by Ohad Naharin, one of the most prominent choreographers known for his specific stage language. He led the renowned Israeli ballet theater, Batsheva Dance Company, in Tel Aviv for many years.

Decadance

Decadance is a dance performance made up of excerpts of Ohad Naharinꞌs already staged choreographic works, initially created with the members of the Batsheva dance company that, like a dance game, freely adds or removes the existing parts, considered from other, different angles.

The work uses music composed by various contemporary authors. It is abundant in Naharinꞌs famous creations with which he investigates the limits and the explosive power of the gesture, introducing to the dancers a virtuoso and sensual energy shaped by the flood of emotions. The innovative and specific Naharinꞌs movement gaga is used in the performance, which the Zagreb ballet ensemble evidently enjoyed, as well as the audiences in known world ballet centers in which this same performance had its many premieres.
