Guitarist Zoran Dukić (Zagreb, 1969) is the winner of several of the world's most prestigious guitar competitions, such as Fernando Sor, Manuel Ponce, Manuel de Falla, and Francisco Tárrega. To this day, he is the only guitarist who has won both of Andrés Segovia's competitions in Granada and Palma de Mallorca. He achieved first place and a special award for the interpretation of Spanish music at the most prominent Spanish guitar competition in Madrid under the patronage of the royal family.
He has performed as a soloist and with orchestral accompaniment on all continents. He pays particular attention to contemporary music, often featuring compositions by Takemitsu, Henze, Reiley, Carter, and Gubajdulina in his concerts. Many composers have dedicated their works to him. He frequently tours with complete programs of Bach's music. He has a particular affinity for the Spanish and South American musical idioms, ranging from Sor to Albéniz and Tárrega to Villa-Lobos.
As an accomplished educator, he has trained generations of classical guitarists at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, the Hochschule für Musik in Aachen, and the High School of Music in Barcelona.
