Božo Župić

He was born in Sinj, where he completed his elementary and secondary education. He began studying singing in 1999 when he enrolled in the Josip Hatze Secondary School of Music in Split. In 2003, he enrolled at the Academy of Music in Split, in the class of Professor Nelli Manuilenko, from which he graduated in July 2007. During his studies, he won two-second prizes at singer competitions in Croatia (2003 and 2005).

While still a singing student at the Academy of Music, he performed as a soloist in many concerts and was also active as a member of chamber ensembles. At the Second International "Rijeka Belcanto" Competition, he reached the finals and performed at the gala concert accompanied by the Orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) "Ivan pl. Zajc" (2006). Župić's impressive vocal potential became evident in 2008 when he reached the finals of the 27th World Singing Competition "Hans Gabor Belvedere," after which he continued to take on notable roles in the Split Opera.
