Igor Kirov presents us his author’s project Letters for Him based on the private letters of Leonard Bernstein, one of the 20th's century greatest composers and conductors. Bernstein’s letters tell much about this complex persona, his collaborators, mentors, and others close to him. These writings demonstrate Bernstein’s constant struggle between conventional and unconventional, his turbulent and complex sexuality, endless capacity for hard work, his humanity, warmth and wonderful eye for descriptive detail. Maša Kolar uses exquisite Beethoven's symphonies performed by the New York Philharmonic in 1968 in her choreography of Allegro. Considering that they were performed under the baton of conductor Leonard Bernstein, they represent a great background for her abstract impression of Bernstein's identity, his conducting skills and dance dimensions of his work.
