Anastasija Jankovskaja

Anastasija Jankovska is a theater, film, and television actress born in 1985 in Kyiv, Ukraine. She completed the first two grades of elementary school in Kyiv before moving with her parents to Split, where she continued her education until the end of high school. She began acting at the State Academy of Dramatic Arts in St. Petersburg and graduated in 2009 from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. In November 2009, she joined the CNT Split Drama ensemble. She later served as an assistant in the Department of Acting under the mentorship of Prof. Milan Štrljić at the Arts Academy in Split (UMAS). Over the last decade, she has portrayed about thirty notable roles at the Croatian National Theatre Split and beyond. During this time, she has been nominated twice for the Croatian Theatre Award: for her role as Ophelia in Shakespeare's Hamlet in 2010 and the character Caroline in Soler's play Against Progress in 2014. At the Days of Satire in 2010, Jankovska received the Sabrija Biser Award for portraying Agnes in Moliere's The School for Wives.  At the Actor's Festival in 2013, she was honored with the Fabijan Šovagović Award for her role as the Woman in Bošnjak's play Heart Bigger than Hands. She had her directing debut with the play Anchored, based on the dramatic text by Elvis Bošnjak, co-produced by the Croatian National Theatre in Split, the Croatian National Theatre in Zadar, and the Gavella Drama Theatre. In 2023, she directed Mani Gotovac's The Farewells at the Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka.
