Scientific, literary, and publishing program of the 35th Marulić Days

The 35th Marulić Days will commence with a ceremonial opening at the HAZU Institute in Split on Tuesday, April 22. Marko Trogrlić, representing the Literary Circle Split, and Kažimir Hraste, representing the HAZU Institute in Split, will deliver the opening addresses.

The winners of the prestigious Croatian Book Day awards—Judita, Davidias, and Slavić—will be announced after the opening ceremony. Additionally, a literary recital titled Croatian Poets in Marulić’s Split, organized by the Croatian Writers’ Association and moderated by Gordana Laco, president of the Split branch of the association, will occur.

The program will continue at Braća Radić Square with a poetry recital titled "To Speak the Right Word!" (Jakša Fiamengo). As part of this segment, a laurel wreath will be laid at Marko Marulić's monument. The first day of the scientific and cultural program will conclude with a Holy Mass and a wreath-laying ceremony at Marulić’s grave, accompanied by a commemorative speech by Danka Radić from the Society of Friends of Cultural Heritage Split.

This year’s scientific program includes the Colloquium Marulianum XXXV and two philological workshops: Croatian and Latin philology workshops.

Marulić Days will continue in the following days with a rich program, bringing together distinguished writers, scholars, and enthusiasts of Croatian literature to honor Marko Marulić's legacy.

This year’s event features a series of lectures, panel discussions, and literary evenings, all aimed at preserving and promoting Croatia’s literary tradition.
