Ibrica Jusić will hold an anniversary concert at the Croatian National Theatre in Split on Sunday, December 15. With this performance, the legendary singer-songwriter and eternal troubadour will celebrate his 80th birthday and 60 years of artistic work. It will be an emotional journey through Jusić's rich career, which has left an indelible mark on the Croatian music scene.
"The Croatian National Theatre in Split has marked a good part of my career. Since this is an anniversary concert, it will be a beautiful retrospective, along with my explanations of how specific songs were created and what inspired me. I will perform 28 songs; this is my program titled 'From Shakespeare to Sevdah.' There will be chansons, Italian canzones, sevdah…," says the artist whose musical journey has taken him from the streets of Dubrovnik, where he started as an unknown street performer and continues to perform to this day, to the musical stages of New York, Paris, and Sydney. The Porin Award for Lifetime Achievement, which he received five years ago, crowns a great career, a significant part of which includes concerts at the HNK Split stage. For many years, Jusić's concerts in the Split national theater have been a hallmark of Valentine's Day in Split. The upcoming concert will be his 27th performance at HNK Split.
