The Croatian National Theatre Split is proud to announce the arrival of 8 new dancers to its ballet ensemble.
After the audition was announced in August 2024, more than 400 dancers applied for the ballet audition for a place in the Croatian National Theatre Split Ballet. Applications came from 49 countries, ranging from neighboring Slovenia and Hungary to Germany, Belgium, France, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Tajikistan. Following a lengthy process, an international group of talented artists was selected to enrich the Split stage.
This new ensemble comes from various parts of the world, including Italy, Brazil, Japan, the United Kingdom and France. Once again, it affirms the HNK Split Ballet's openness to international artists and commitment to excellence.
Among those selected are:
- Giulia Del Grande and Mariaelena Colombo are from Italy and have been trained at prestigious institutions such as the Academy of Teatro alla Scala and the European School of Ballet.
- Amanda Rocha and Kaynan Pereira Oliveira from Brazil, with professional experience at the State Opera Plovdiv and São Paulo Dance Company.
- Robbie Fisher and Alfred Jago from the United Kingdom, dancers with extensive experience at the English National Ballet, the Scottish Ballet, and the National Ballet of Bulgaria.
- Yuka Nojo from Japan is joining Split from Queensland Ballet.
- Paul Meneu from France, who received his ballet training in Paris, joins the Split ensemble from English National Ballet.
This blend of young talent and experienced artists brings new momentum to the HNK Split Ballet, which will premiere renowned ballet artist Denis Matvienko's ballet diptych "Concert Class / Scheherazade."
